The final step from teacher candidate to classroom teacher is a critical one. Clinical internships, or “student teaching,” provides College of Charleston teacher education majors with the most intensive assignments of the college careers.

Chuck and Sara Davis are donating $250,000 to ensure this critical step is a successful one. The Jeremy Warren Vann Scholarships for future teachers provide financial support to teacher education majors during their clinical internships, practicing in context what they learned in their education coursework.

The College of Charleston African studies program will host a four-part film series documenting three months of violence in Rwanda. Joe Scarlett, former chairman and CEO of Tractor Supply Company, will speak at the College of Charleston School of Business on April 1, 2014 at 1:40 p.m. in the Beatty Center’s Wells Fargo Auditorium (5 Liberty St.).
