The team earned four gold medals, two silvers, and a bronze, scoring enough points to defeat Davidson College, N.C. State University, Georgia State University, and St. Louis University and win the regatta trophy. Previous winners of this regatta include such rowing titans as Dartmouth College, University of Washington, and Temple University.

Competitive Charleston crews scored gold in the men’s and women’s 4’s, men’s 8, and the men’s double. Silver medals came from the women’s 8 and the mixed 4, while the sole bronze was won by the second women’s 4. The second men’s 4 was also expected to medal, but was forced to resign after significant equipment failures.

Coaches Travis Landrith and Joseph Berger ’13 are optimistic after this weekend’s outcome, noting that the team shows real promise, but still has work to do before they’re a real threat at the regional and national level.
