As a precautionary action due to possible ice and snow, the College of Charleston is canceling all classes, labs and activities for Tuesday, January 28. This includes the Main Campus, North Campus, Patriot’s Point, Grice Marine Lab and the Lowcountry Graduate Center. Almost all campus offices will be closed.

All non-essential employees are excused from reporting to work. Essential employees such as public safety, physical plant, residence hall and food service staff should check with their supervisors.

Campus offices will resume normal schedules as soon as weather conditions permit safe travel. Students and employees should check the College’s website on Tuesday afternoon and evening for updated information on the schedule for reopening campus. In addition, the College will use the CougarAlert system to update students and staff on the schedule for campus reopening.

All residence halls will remain open. The Fresh Food Company dining facility will open at 9 a.m. on Tuesday and remain open all day. The library will be closed.

Anyone needing assistance should contact the Department of Public Safety at 953-5611 (emergency) or 953-5609 (non-emergency).
