The College of Charleston School of Business in partnership with the Charleston chapter of 2020 Women on Boards will host a networking reception and panel discussion November 12, 2013 at the Beatty Center (5 Liberty St.). The event will take place from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with tickets available to the public for $38.

Panelists will include Charleston businesswomen Cheryl Morley of Monsanto Corporation, Gail DePriest of Clemson at the Falls and Julie Medich of Haynesworth Sinkler Boyd, P.A. Their discussion will focus on New York Times bestseller Lean In, Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg’s book about women’s role in corporate America.

Sandberg contends in Lean In that despite the fact women make up more than 50 percent of college graduates, they are still vastly underrepresented in corporate America.

2020 Women on Boards is an organization that aims to increase the percentage of women on U.S. corporate boards to 20% or greater by the year 2020.
