ETV Radio’s “Spoleto Today” Show Remembers Ted Stern

Posted on 7 June 2013 | 10:34 am

Broadcast live from the College of Charleston, ETV Radio’s Spoleto Today show featured dozens of College professors and alumni as well as a remembrance of former College President and Spoleto Festival Former President Ted Stern. Listen to the segment, featuring a 2012 interview with the beloved festival champion.

Stern is known for transforming the College from a small private college into a nationally recognized institution of higher learning. As the first president of the board for the Spoleto Festival USA, Stern guided Spoleto through its early years to become one of the nation’s premier arts festivals. Stern’s leadership in the City of Charleston is evident through the development of the South Carolina Aquarium, Charleston Place, and the Coastal Community Foundation of South Carolina.

Spoleto Today is co-hosted by College of Charleston Arts Management Professor Jeanette Guinn and Marcus Overton. The show is a daily report on the latest happenings at the Spoleto Festival USA and at Piccolo Spoleto, along with guest interviews and previews of upcoming performances.
