President George Benson on Thursday, March 29, participated in the annual Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce Economic Outlook Conference.

Benson led a panel discussion about the Charleston and national economies. The panelists were Mark Vitner, Managing Director and Senior Economist at Wells Fargo; Frank Hefner, chair of the Department of Economics and director of the Office of Economic Analysis at the College of Charleston; and Steve Slifer, owner of NumberNomics and former Chief U.S. Economist for Lehman Brothers in New York City.

Vitner also delivered the event’s keynote address.

The event, held at the Charleston Area Convention Center in North Charleston, drew about 500 attendees.
