Dance Ensemble Performs Robert Ivey’s Choreography

College of Charleston’s Dance Ensemble will perform works choreographed by Robert Ivey between 1980 and 2001, as well as several pieces inspired by and in honor of him. The performances will be on Monday, December 5 and Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in theatre 220 in the Albert Simons Center. The performance is free to attend, but a donation to the Robert Ivey Scholarship in Dance is encouraged.

College Offices Closed for Thanksgiving Holiday

College of Charleston offices will be closed for the Thanksgiving holidays from November 24, 2011 through November 27, 2011. All dining facilities are closed on Thursday, November 24 through Saturday, November 26. All dining facilities (except Einstein Bros Bagels) will reopen at 4:00 p.m. or 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 27. View a complete list of dining facility hours.

Cougars to Play in “Battle 4 Atlantis” Tournament

College Empowers Public Thought Leaders

The College of Charleston is empowering public thought leaders by encouraging faculty members to participate in the OpEd Project, a national program that helps women to use their expertise to change public discourse through opinion writing. Since the Women’s and Gender Studies Program and the Office of Academic Affairs launched this project in May, participants from the College of Charleston have published six op-eds with more expected in the coming months.

Scholarship Recipients Recognized at Charleston Classic

Seven College of Charleston students were recognized as recipients of the Gavalas-Kolanko Foundation scholarship at the final game of the 2011 Direct TV Charleston Classic presented by Foster Grant. The game was Sunday, November 20, 2011 at 8:30 p.m. at the TD Arena (211 Meeting Street).

Documentary Star on Campus to Shed Light on Disabilities

Darius Goes West, an award winning documentary, will be shown at the Sottile Theater at the College of Charleston on Thursday, November 17, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. Doors open at 6:00, admission is free and open to the public. Darius Weems and several of the cast will be in attendance for a Q&A after the film.
