The College of Charleston’s SIFE team is a champion (league one) of the 2011 SIFE USA Regional Competition and will advance to national competition to be held in Minneapolis on May 10 – 12. The Regional Competition was held on March 21 in Charlotte, NC.

The student presentation team of Keely Laughlin, Dylan Moses, Nicole Metcalf, Brittany Errico and Matt Mintz was recognized as a 4.0 club team for their sound program. This recognition went to just six out of 29 teams. They were also one of just nine teams to be recognized as a 44-team for having such an active, large team of students. David Desplaces, associate professor of global commerce/international business, who serves as the team’s faculty advisor. Together, they represented the College of Charleston, the School of Business, and the SIFE program.

SIFE is a partnership between business and higher education that is preparing the next generation of entrepreneurs and business leaders to create a better world for everyone. A global non-profit organization, SIFE offers university students the opportunity to solve real-world problems by applying educational topics principles.
