South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley has appointed Jeff Schilz and Doctor Toya Pound to the College of Charleston Board of Trustees.

Schilz will replace David Hay as the governor’s appointee to the BOT.  Dr. Pound will be the governor’s appointee replacing Sam Stafford.

Schilz is a business and government consultant with the Lucas Group, Inc. a corporate strategies firm that assists corporate clients with due diligence in the area of value-based growth in mergers and acquisitions, and assists government agencies by developing ideas on costs containment, efficiency and reform. Previously, he served on Governor Mark Sanford’s senior staff as Policy Director and Cabinet Director and has practiced law in Greenville. Schilz is a graduate of the College of Charleston and holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of South Carolina.

Dr. Pound is a doctor of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Mount Pleasant, SC and is an assistant professor at The Medical University of South Carolina.  She serves as the director of East Cooper Women’s Center and is a member of the Physicians Leadership Group at East Cooper Medical Center. Dr. Pound is an alumna of the College of Charleston and received her medical degree from MUSC.
