College of Charleston Cross Country and Track & Field coaches and athletes invite the community to train with them for the 2010 Turkey Day Run and Gobble Wobble 5K. Training will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Hampton Park beginning October 19. The race will be held on November 25 at 9:00 a.m. in downtown Charleston.

Head Coach Amy Seago and Assistant Coaches Brian Johnson, Ben Yocum and Heather Schmidt will provide a six-week training plan, group workouts, motivation and expertise. The training program is $60, payable the first day of training.

Amy Seago has coached the Cougars for the past seven years during which the teams have captured six conference titles in four different individual events and earned three trips to the NCAA Outdoor Regionals. College athletes have been named to all-conference teams 20 times since Seago took over the program. Prior to coming to the College of Charleston, Seago served as head women’s cross country and assistant men’s and women’s track & field coach at Washington & Lee University. She was a track & field All-American at Allegheny College and a two-year captain of the cross country team, qualifying for the NCAA Cross Country Championships twice. She is USATF Level II certified in endurance, throws and jumps.

The Turkey Day Run and Gobble Wobble are South Carolina’s premiere 5K events and attract more than 5,000 participants each year. For more information about the race.
