The College of Charleston will welcome more than 2,500 new and returning students to campus at the third annual Georgestock. The event will be held in the Carolina First Arena on Sunday, August 22, 2010 from 7:00p.m. until 10:00p.m. Non-stop music and entertainment will be provided by New York-based DJ Chachi. Admission is free for all currently enrolled students.
Georgestock will feature performances by student organizations, a variety of novelty entertainment experiences, dancing, food and giveaways. This is an exciting way for incoming students to be introduced to College life and for returning students to reconnect with the campus and friends.
“This year we’re hoping to attract more returning students to interact with the first-year students,” says Susan Payment, director of student life.
“Returning students can answer questions and be a resource for those who are new to campus, plus they can talk about the different organizations new students can join.”
Georgestock is sponsored by the Office of Student Life, the Office of Residence Life and Housing, New Student Programs, Cougar Activities Board, Student Government Association, Black Student Union, Greek Life and Athletics.
