ExCEL Awards Nomination Deadline Today

The College of Charleston is accepting nominations for its 2010 Excellence in Collegiate Education and Leadership (ExCEL) Awards through Friday, February 26. Christina Lysacek Returns from Olympics in Vancouver

College of Charleston senior communication major Christina Lysacek is the younger sister of Olympic figure skating gold medalist Evan Lysacek. Evan is the first American male figure skater to win the gold since 1988.

Extrasolar Planet Expert to Speak at the College

Dr. Lisa Kaltenegger, a member of the new NASA Executive Committee on Extrasolar Planet Analysis will be the featured speaker at the College of Charleston’s Conrad D. Festa Community Lecture in Science & Mathematics series on March 5, 2010.   The lecture will be held in the auditorium (room 129) of the new College of Charleston Science Building beginning at 6:00 pm.

Cougars Play in BracketBuster Game on ESPN2

The College of Charleston men’s basketball team steps out of the Southern Conference to face George Mason Saturday, Feb. 20 at 8 p.m. at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Va.  The game will be televised on ESPN2 as part of Bracket Buster.

College Participates in African American Read-In

The College of Charleston is participating in the 21st Annual African American Read-In on February 16 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m in room 227 of the Marlene and Nathan Addlestone Library. More than one million readers of all ethnic groups from 49 states, the West Indies, and African countries have participate din past read-ins. The goal is to make the celebration of African-American literacy a traditional part of Black History Month activities.
