Undergraduate and graduate-level accounting students at the College of Charleston helped five area families enjoy the holiday season this year as part of The Palmetto Project’s Families Helping Families (FHF) Program. Over the past several weeks, nearly 50 members and candidates of the Mu Beta chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, the College’s chapter of the international accounting honor society, either made donations, purchased and wrapped presents and/or helped to transport the donated gifts to the FHF distribution center. David Desplaces, associate professor in the School of Business, recently received the Freedoms Foundation Leavy Award Honoring Excellence in Private Enterprise Education. The Leavy Award honors outstanding teachers for bringing passion and creativity to their classrooms as they teach students about entrepreneurship and the free enterprise system. Read More

CSEdWeek recognizes the transformative role of computing and the importance of computer science education for all students in the United States. Read More

Thirteen College of Charleston Bonner Leaders will travel to New Orleans over winter break to work with nonprofit organizations that focus on HIV/AIDS issues. In just the past two months, the students (16 total) have completed 1,900 hours of service and leadership training. The Bonner Leaders Program is in its second year at the College and has already helped dozens of nonprofit organizations in the Charleston area. Read More
