Author and Vietnam veteran Tim O’Brien will be the featured speaker during the College of Charleston’s The College Reads! program on October 2, 2009. The speech will be held in the Carolina First Arena starting at 5 p.m. The program is free and open to the public.
Professor James Walvin, Professor of History Emeritus at the University of York in England, will deliver this term’s Wachovia Distinguished Public Lecture at the College of Charleston on Thursday, October 8th at 7 pm. The College of Charleston Athletic Department has revealed a newly designed web site, www.cofcsports.com. The new design hopes to maintain the site’s familiarity, while packaging CofC sports in a more user-friendly format.
John Palmer, an award-winning journalist and news anchor, has been named a life member of the Department of Communication Advisory Council at the College of Charleston. Palmer received this honor on the recommendation of the members of the Council. He is only the second person to be named a life member.
